Sizzling State Fair of Texas Cooking Contests: Are You Ready to Heat Up the Kitchen?

The State Fair of Texas is renowned for its gastronomic delights, and where else can one witness the culinary genius of Texans than at the State Fair of Texas Cooking Contests? Yearly, this event sees kitchen aficionados vie for the much-coveted ribbons and the title of the best in Texas. With the inclusion of five brand-new contests this time around, there's a culinary niche for everyone to shine.

Set your reminders! Cooking contests have dedicated dates at the Competition Kitchen. It's preferable to register online ahead of time at Creative.BigTex.com, though same-day registrations at the Creative Arts building are welcome. These are "day-of entry" contests, so bring along your masterpiece ready for its spotlight. The spectrum of contests spans traditional to contemporary, from the timeless Pie Contest to the zesty Tex-Mex Contest.

**Brand New Culinary Challenge Alert!**

Get ready for the "Battle for the Blue Ribbons". Slated to host three of the Fair’s all-time favorite Creative Arts Cooking Contests - Cookie, Cake, and Bread, this special event will kick-off in May. All those who clinch a blue ribbon will subsequently have an invitation for the “Best of Show-Down” in the Competition Kitchen come Sunday, 10/8/2023. Not just a title, but winners also earn two day passes and a parking pass to the 2023 Fair. The cherry on top? These contests welcome participants of ALL AGES. Each entrant can participate in all three contests but is limited to a maximum of six entries for each contest.
